Classic Reflections

I’ve been teaching the Classic Reflections Block of the Month once a month all year at Aunt Mary’s Quilting.  The top is finally complete!

The pattern starts with basic Half Square Triangle blocks and Shaded Four-Patch blocks.  Add some Square in a Square blocks and some fancy Flying Geese.

This pattern is not a beginner pattern.  There are some very complex blocks, and there were times when my students struggled.  But I gave them tips and tricks for pulling these blocks together.  They took the time to accurately cut, sew, and press, and then slowly completed the blocks.

Next month we’ll be adding borders, and their Classic Reflections quilt tops will be done.  It’s been a challenging set of classes, but I think they’ll be thrilled with the final product.

The completed top is huge!  84″ x 84″ :

Whew!  I can’t wait to see it quilted.
