Last time, my test quilt top looked great, but then I realized that in writing the pattern, the piecing would be more complicated than it needed to be.  So, I started over.  I sat down and sketched out the quilt top using the blocks and strips sets I wanted to make.

Now, I can start another test quilt.  I have another really cute panel from Elizabeth’s Studio with trucks, and I pulled these fabrics from my stash to coordinate with the truck blocks.

I cut 1 1/2″, 2 1/2″, and 3 1/2″ strips from each fabric, then sewed two strip sets.

Then, following the sketch I made, I sub-cut the strips and laid them out with the truck squares.

I’m really liking the way this is coming out.  I think I’ll call this pattern “Pebbles.”  Unless someone has a better idea?

Next time I’ll add sashing and borders.  See you soon!
